Inflectiv turned six in September 2026!

The number six makes me think of the idea of six degrees of separation: that each person in the world is connected to every other person through a chain of just six relationships. You may remember this as a funny game called the “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.”

Whatever you call it, relationships and community have been the cornerstone of Inflectiv’s business from the very start.

How our community helped us get started

Back in 2020, Inflectiv was just me. I was still providing the marketing communications and digital services that I started in 2018.

But during COVID, I went out on a limb. Inflectiv began to offer HubSpot-related services, including marketing automation and CRM implementation.

It was a significant shift from my previous expertise. I wasn’t sure it would get any traction.

By September 2020, I launched this new offering by talking with peers in my existing community. Looking back, three specific relationships started our momentum:

  • A former colleague trusted us enough to fill a gap in their marketing operations processes and became our very first client.
  • Our second client came from a former mentee, now a peer, who needed a reliable partner to manage their CRM implementation.
  • The third person helped us win our biggest client to date. She then became my first Inflectiv team member and introduced me to the third team member!
Six years of relationships worth celebrating

As we grew, building and nurturing new relationships remained a big part of our growth strategy.

We’ve been blessed to develop hundreds of relationships over these past six years. I’d like to recognize:

  1. The wonderful clients who hired us to make an impact on their businesses.
  2. The Inflectiv team members who took a chance and joined an emerging small business.
  3. Partners who understood what we do and opened doors for us.
  4. Fellow entrepreneurs and small business leaders who generously mentored and collaborated with us.
  5. Brilliant, helpful people from HubSpot and other technology partners who gave us a platform to succeed.

These relationships worked because they have been a two-way street. We strove to be as helpful to them as they were to us.

Community is a growth practice that lasts

There are plenty of cutting-edge AI and go-to-market tactics that companies use to grow. Thankfully, building community is a practice that will always work.

I can’t recommend it enough.

If you’ve been part of the chain of relationships that helped Inflectiv get here: thank you so much.

And if we don’t know each other yet, let’s use this chance to connect. There might be a way for us to help each other!
